A New Zealand-based revival evangelistic ministry led by Joseph and Lesley Lee, recently joined forces with Every Home for Christ (EHC) in Samoa for a significant door-to-door outreach initiative. This powerful collaboration aimed to bring the love of Jesus to local communities, combining EHC’s established local networks and the ‘Kiwi’s’ evangelistic zeal.
Helen Phillips, a Missions leader, shared her story of the mission, detailing the heart behind their outreach efforts. “Our Ministry is all about touching one life at a time with the love of Christ,” she explained. “Our vision is ‘Love one, Touch nations’ and that’s exactly what we set out to do in Samoa.”
Diverse Team on a Mission
Last year the New Zealand Ministry took a team to Samoa to partner with local churches and organisations to bring Revival through Crusades, Village Outreach, Church Meetings and Prison visits. The team comprised of 34 individuals, including men, women, teenagers and even young children. “We had everyone from six months old to 75 years old on the team
Helen recalled. The diversity of the group reflected the Ministry’s commitment to inclusivity. They welcomed individuals from different Christian Churches and various ethnic backgrounds, including Māori, Chinese, Samoan and South African members, unified by a shared calling to spread the gospel.
This year, the mission took a unique turn, as the Ministry embarked on an all- women’s mission trip. The team spent time in Samoan villages, connecting with the local community in deeply personal ways. “The feedback from the women was overwhelmingly positive. One of the ladies said, ‘If we could have had just one more day in the villages, that would have been fantastic,’” Helen said. The women were especially touched by the hospitality of the Samoan people, who welcomed them into their homes with open arms.
The Power of Partnership
One of the key strengths of this outreach was the New Zealands Ministry’s collaboration with EHC. “We’ve partnered with Morgan Gegera (National Director) and his team at EHC before and it’s always a blessing,” Helen noted.
The combination of EHC’s knowledge of local culture and language, along with the ‘Kiwi’s’ passion for ministry, created a powerful synergy. “The interpreters were incredible, helping us to break down language barriers and connect with people in ways we wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.”
Helen shared how the locals were more open and receptive because of EHC’s longstanding presence in the community. “There’s a certain trust that comes with knowing the people you’re ministering to. The locals felt comfortable opening up to us because we were coming alongside EHC.”
Testimonies of Healing and Transformation
The outreach was marked by miraculous stories of healing and transformation. One testimony stood out in particular: a local woman who had been blind saw her sight restored after the team prayed for her. “Her eyesight started coming back bit by bit,” Helen recounted. “The team just kept praying and by the time they left, she could see.”
These moments of divine intervention had a profound impact on the team as well as the people they ministered to. “When you witness God move in such a powerful way, it touches your heart deeply,” Helen said. “It’s a reminder that God sees and cares for every individual, no matter how ordinary their life may seem.”
Moving Forward
Reflecting on the mission, Helen expressedhergratitudefortheopportunity to partner with EHC and the lasting impact it had on everyone involved. “We value Morgan and his team at EHC so much,” she said. “It’s not just about going in and out of a country—it’s about building relationships that last.”
Through this outreach, the New Zealand Ministry and EHC have once again demonstrated the transformative power of partnership in mission work. As Helen put it, “When the body of Christ works together, amazing things happen.”
This joint effort not only brought physical healing and spiritual renewal to the people of Samoa but also strengthened the bonds of faith between two ministries working toward the same goal—spreading the love of Christ, one home at a time.
P.S. EHC’s Greg Bondar will be in Samoa next month to continue the ministry.
