The May 2025 Every Home for Christ (EHC) Australia and New Zealand newsletter celebrates major milestones, such as 50 years of ministry and 40 years of UK support. Key highlights include the expansion of humanitarian projects, strategic evangelistic partnerships, significant events like the Sydney Prayer Breakfast, and the establishment of the Eric Leach Bible College Scholarship. The newsletter also showcases international collaboration, especially between Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines, and honors the enduring impact of the UK team. Overall, it reflects on EHC’s commitment to carrying Christ to “everyone, everywhere, every generation.

Humanitarian Aid Knows No Boundaries

As we reflect on the 50-year history of Every Home for Christ (UK), it was a blessing to discover the name of Dick Eastman, a long-time friend and former UK Board member, alongside Eric Leach. Dick’s commitment to global evangelism is especially evident in his book Look What God is Doing, which powerfully illustrates how humanitarian aid can be a vital pathway to spreading the Gospel—across all boundaries.

Christian humanitarian aid is deeply rooted in our faith—it embodies the values of love, compassion, and service, especially toward the marginalised and vulnerable. In nations where Christianity is not always welcome, these acts of kindness create open doors to share the message of Christ. At Every Home for Christ (EHC), this is not just theory—it’s action. Through our work, we address critical global issues like poverty, hunger, and disease, in countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Samoa, and Nepal.

Looking ahead to our UK Board meeting this June, we are excited to explore how UK donors can continue to play a vital role in supporting these life-changing humanitarian efforts.

Easter 2025: Churches & EHC Partner to Spread the Gospel

This Easter, EHC had the joy of partnering with 16 churches across the UK, providing them with Every Home Easter invitation cards. These simple yet powerful tools helped congregations reach out to their communities and invite everyone, everywhere to celebrate the risen Christ.

We also extend a heartfelt thank-you to our partners at the Global Recordings Network. Thanks to this collaboration, we were able to distribute The Story of Jesus in a wide range of languages—ensuring that more people than ever heard the Good News in a way that spoke directly to their hearts.

Pastors expressed deep appreciation for the invitation cards, viewing them as a catalyst for evangelism and community outreach. If you’re a pastor or church leader and would like to explore how Every Home for Christ can support your church’s mission, we’d be honoured to connect with you.

Coming Soon: The Every Home Card Launches in the UK

Looking ahead to June 2025, we are thrilled to announce the UK launch of the Every Home Card. During meetings with Christian leaders and pastors across the country, the Every Home UK Office will introduce this innovative outreach tool.

This credit-card-sized invitation encourages people everywhere to celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas by visiting their local church. It’s simple, effective, and designed to help churches connect with their communities in a meaningful way.

At Every Home for Christ, our mission is clear: reaching every home on earth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether through humanitarian aid or local church partnerships, we are committed to bringing the message of hope to every doorstep.

Standing Together in Faith: EHC at the Men for Christ Conference

In March, Every Home for Christ (EHC) was honoured to partner with Men for Christ Ministries for their annual conference, Set Apart — Men Being Holy. This powerful event was a full day devoted to equipping and inspiring men to live lives of holiness and purpose in Christ.

With over 400 men in attendance, it was a blessing to have EHC flyers included in the conference bags—a reminder that every man is also called, as Matthew 28:19 commands, to carry Christ to everyone, everywhere, and every generation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Richard Bolton, Chairman and Conference Convenor, and his entire team for the opportunity to be part of this impactful gathering. We look forward with anticipation to partnering again at the 2026 Men for Christ Conference.

EHC to Partner with the 2025 Sydney Prayer Breakfast

We are also pleased to announce that Every Home for Christ will be a partner at the 2025 Sydney Prayer Breakfast, to be held on 11 June 2025 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney.

This major event, held in the ICC’s Grand Ballroom, brings together over 1,700 people from across the city to unite in prayer for Sydney, its leaders, and its future. Our partnership with this event aligns closely with our ongoing commitment to prayer through the School of Prayer workshops, inspired by EHC’s International President Emeritus, Dick Eastman.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Julie McGonigle, Head of St Andrew’s Cathedral School, a highly respected and internationally recognised leader in education. With multiple awards for excellence in teaching and leadership, Dr. McGonigle brings a unique perspective to the power of prayer and purpose in public life.

Through partnerships like these, EHC continues to equip believers, empower churches, and bring the message of Christ to homes across Australia and beyond. We remain committed to inspiring every believer to play their part in the Great Commission.

Celebrating 50 Years of Ministry: Every Home for Christ’s Golden Anniversary

As we reflect on five decades of ministry, we are thrilled to share that the 50th Anniversary Luncheon for Every Home for Christ (EHC) was a tremendous success! Held recently, this milestone event brought together around 130 guests—spanning all ages and locations, from Wollongong to Fiji to the USA—for a joyful celebration of God’s faithfulness.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

The luncheon was more than just a celebration; it was a time of reflection, gratitude, and inspiration. A range of guest speakers recounted the rich history and remarkable growth of EHC, while also honouring the pivotal role of Eric Leach, who led the ministry faithfully for 46 years.

One central theme echoed throughout the afternoon: EHC has always been fully reliant on the generosity of our donors. These supporters—both in Australia and overseas—have been the backbone of our evangelistic and humanitarian work, helping carry the Gospel to homes across the globe.

Worship, Devotion & Tribute

The atmosphere was made even more special with worship led by Leah Von Huben and Nethan Wilmshurst, and a heartfelt devotional by EHC Chairman Rev. Alex Thomas, who reminded us that EHC is built on biblical values and remains faithful in its mission to be Christ carriers in every season.

A particularly meaningful moment was the attendance of Lorraine Leach, whose presence was a cherished reminder of Eric Leach’s incredible legacy.

A New Legacy: The Eric Leach Bible College Scholarship

In a fitting tribute to this legacy, we were honoured to announce at the luncheon that the EHC Board of Directors has approved the establishment of the EHC Eric Leach Bible College Scholarship. This exciting initiative, launched as part of our 50th birthday celebrations, will support the next generation of Christian leaders—ensuring that Eric’s passion for spreading the Gospel continues to bear fruit well into the future.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to the vision that began 50 years ago: to take the message of Jesus Christ to everyone, everywhere, in every generation. Thank you to all who celebrated with us—and to every supporter who has made this journey possible.

A Historic Gathering: Joint Board Meeting Marks EHC’s 50th Anniversary

In this landmark 50th anniversary year for Every Home for Christ (EHC), history was made as the Boards of Directors from Australia and New Zealand came together for a joint meeting in the Jubilee Room at the NSW Parliament House. This significant gathering highlighted the unity, vision, and global reach of the ministry.

A Warm Welcome and Devotional Encouragement

Rev. Alex Thomas, Chairman of EHC Australia, opened the meeting with a warm welcome to the New Zealand board members and international guests, including Tim Middlebrook (Chief Financial Officer, EHC International, Colorado, USA) and Manasa Kolivuso (EHC Pacific Regional Director, Fiji).

Rev. Thomas also shared a devotional based on Matthew 11:28–30:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…”

He reflected on the power of hope, referencing a compelling quote:

“Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are.”

These words served as both encouragement and challenge, reminding attendees of the ongoing need to stand in hope while taking bold steps toward change.

Strategic Reflections from Across the Tasman

During the meeting, Teepa Wawatai, Chairman of EHC New Zealand, emphasized the need to focus on engaging the next generation. As many long-time supporters come from the baby boomer generation, building a strong base of young supporters and leaders is vital to ensuring the ministry’s future impact.

This forward-looking perspective reflects the same pioneering spirit that, on 16 April 1975, saw Eric Leach officially commit Australia to becoming a member of the international Every Home for Christ community—a global movement of “Christ carriers” dedicated to reaching every home with the Gospel.

Looking Ahead Together

This historic joint board meeting represents more than just a milestone; it signals a renewed sense of partnership, mission, and momentum across the Pacific region. For details about the current EHC Australia Board of Directors, please visit our official website. Information on the EHC New Zealand Board is available on the EHC NZ website.

As we celebrate 50 years of faithful ministry, we look ahead with a shared vision: to reach everyone, everywhere, in every generation with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

A Blessed Visit: Emer and Samuel Evangelista from EHC Philippines Visit Australia

By Emer Evangelista, National Director – EHC Philippines

It was with great joy that Sam and I arrived in Australia for the first time on March 21, landing at Sydney Airport, where we were warmly welcomed by EHC staff member Kaliopi. She graciously escorted us to our accommodation at the Novotel Sydney International Airport, setting the tone for what would become a memorable and spirit-filled journey.

A Warm Welcome

Our visit officially began with a special welcome lunch hosted by EHC Director Greg Bondar and his team at a lovely restaurant in Brighton-Le-Sands. This warm gesture of hospitality made us feel instantly at home.

On Saturday, March 22, we were honoured to share our testimonies with EHC staff and supporters, speaking about the powerful work God is doing through EHC Philippines. The evening concluded with joyful fellowship and a delightful dinner at a Chinese restaurant.

Worship and Testimony

The following day, Sunday, March 23, we joined Greg and Lynne Bondar at Saints Church Anglican in South Hurstville for a morning of worship. During the Mission Spot, Sam and I shared briefly about the vision and impact of EHC Philippines, reminding everyone of our shared calling: to carry Christ to everyone, everywhere, in every generation. After the service, we were treated to lunch at the Sydney Tower, where we enjoyed both delicious food and spectacular views of the city.

Fellowship and Prayer

On Monday, March 24, we had another opportunity to share our story with EHC staff, pastors, volunteers, and supporters. The session included a powerful time of fellowship, prayer, and Q&A—truly a time of refreshing and encouragement for us all. We ended the day with a wonderful lunch at a nearby Thai restaurant and were especially thankful to have met Lorraine Leach for the first time. We had previously met her late husband, Eric Leach, during his visit to the Philippines, so this was a meaningful moment.

Later that evening, we enjoyed a lovely dinner with Greg and Lynne at the Novotel, capping off another spirit-filled day.

Grateful Hearts

On Tuesday, March 25, we checked out of our hotel and spent a few days reconnecting with Filipino friends in NSW and Darwin before returning to Sydney on March 31 to prepare for our flight back home.

Our time in Australia was truly meaningful, refreshing, and encouraging. It was God’s appointed time for Sam and me to share the great things He has done in our marriage, family, and ministry. Despite the trials and difficulties we have faced, God has used our journey to bring hope and encouragement to others. We were deeply blessed to connect with families in Sydney and Darwin, and we leave refreshed by God’s goodness and the warmth of His people.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We are already looking forward to welcoming many of you to Manila in April 2026, when we will celebrate EHC Philippines’ 60th Anniversary and host the EHC Regional Conference. We hope to see you there!

In Christ,
Emer Evangelista
National Director, EHC Philippines

The Story of Every Home for Christ UK

By Adrian Stone, Media Director, EHC UK

The journey of Every Home for Christ UK is one deeply rooted in the unwavering commitment to both the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16–20) and the Great Commandments (Matthew 22:37–40). It’s a legacy of faith, obedience, and the power of personal evangelism.

Foundations in Faith

The UK ministry was founded 40 years ago by Eric Leach, a passionate evangelist who was called from Australia under the leadership of then-American EHC President, Johnny Lee. Eric’s arrival marked the beginning of a transformative movement across the UK.

Over the years, Eric led hundreds of School of Prayer weekends throughout England, Scotland, and Ireland—igniting a hunger for prayer and evangelism across the region. His legacy continues to inspire and shape the direction of EHC UK today.

A Global Vision, A Local Mission

The global roots of EHC trace back even further. In 1946, Jack McAlister began a literature ministry in Canada, compelled by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to encounter the love of Christ. By 1953, this initiative evolved into the Every Home Crusade, adopting a systematic approach to evangelism—ensuring no home was overlooked.

Today, the mission has grown into a dynamic global movement. Under the leadership of Tanner Peake, Every Home for Christ is more than door-to-door outreach—it’s about holistic mission, building lasting relationships and empowering local leaders to carry the Gospel forward in their communities.

The Heart of the Mission

What keeps the mission alive isn’t just the strategy—it’s the hearts of ordinary people. People who are faithful to Christ’s call to love their neighbour, to reach across barriers, and to speak hope into their neighbourhoods, cities, and nations.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to that same vision: Everyone. Everywhere. In Every Generation.

Celebrating the EHC UK Team

The work of EHC UK would not be possible without the dedication of the London-based team, a passionate and resourceful group that continues to play a key role in supporting the global EHC family.

At the helm are Adrian Stone (Media Director) and Laura Stone (Communications & Administration Lead)—a dynamic duo whose faith, flexibility, and servant-hearted leadership have made an incredible impact.

Despite the challenges of different time zones, Adrian and Laura are always available for late-night Zoom calls, offer timely responses, and are committed to excellence in event coordination, supporter engagement, and the recent launch of the Every Home Card in the UK.

Adrian, originally from South Africa, brings over 17 years of service to EHC UK, enriched by a powerful testimony of faith from his time in China, and an impressive media ministry portfolio. Laura, born in Africa, brings deep humanitarian insight through her work in programs such as Relish & Grace and Roots, which focus on empowering the vulnerable through food and community support.

Together, they are an unstoppable team whose impact extends far beyond the London office. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment, love for people, and vision for the Gospel.

Thank you, Adrian and Laura, for your tireless service and the light you continue to shine across the UK and beyond.
