NextGen Disciples Youth Report

Executive Summary

Next Gen Disciples (‘NextGen’) is the newly founded youth arm of Every Home for Christ (‘Every Home’), it is lead by Every Home’s youth ambassadors, Jemima Ayoub and Leon Karatzis with the strong support of the broader Every Home team. This report will provide a preliminary summary of the objectives and achievements of NextGen, outlining NextGen’s plans for future initiatives, with the ultimate goal of Every Home’s mission to carry Christ to everyone, everywhere, and in every generation, with a primary focus on the latter.

Objectives

• To work towards the fulfilment of Every Home’s primary mission to;
  • Carry Christ to;
    • Everyone,
    • Everywhere and,
    • In every generation.
  • NextGen’s primary role in the fulfilment of Every Home’s mission is to;
    • Carry Christ to Every Generation with a target focus on;
      • Generation Z (born between 1997-2012).
    • NextGen will fulfil her mission by;
      • Making young disciples of Christ, and
      • Creating a network of young disciples of Christ.
    • NextGen is a national initiative.

Current Progress

• As NextGen is a new initiative, most progression has been in relation to future planning, however, the following has already been achieved;
  • Represented at Every Home sponsored events including the:
    • Albury School of Prayer, and
    • Christmas Spectacular.
  • Created a youth tab on Every Home’s website with a sign up form
    • Physical copies of the sign up forms have also been distributed.
  • Proposed the Outback Christmas Shoebox Appeal (see below).

Future Goals

• NextGen disciples seeks to grow her online presence through the;
  • Building of an online network of young Christians on various social media platforms including, but not limited to;
    • Facebook,
    • Instagram,
    • Snapchat, and
    • WhatsApp
  • NextGen disciples seeks to build smaller physical communities of young disciples of Christ by creating local events for members of national online groups. Events may include, but are not limited to;
    • Movie nights
    • Prayer meetings with a youth focus
    • Bible Studies, and
    • Discipleship training.
  • NextGen Disciples seeks to share the love of Christ to disadvantaged children in regional Australia this will be done through:
    • Engagment with existing outreach initiatives, and
      • g. the recent School of Prayer in Albury
    • The implementation of the proposed Outback Christmas shoebox appeal where children in disadvantaged communities will be given;
      • Tangible gifts to symbolise Christian charity, and
      • The gospel to nourish their soul.
